    Job Description

    To assist the Engineering Department management with record keeping and department organization. 

    Provide support to department staff with Synergy assignments, parts stock upkeep, information updates and work order flow.

    Responsibilities

    • Receive direction from the Director of Engineering on assignments and completion expectations.
    • Interact and communicate with engineering department staff in an effective manner whether it be face to face, over the two-way radio, texting or otherwise.
    • Ability to properly prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.
    • Maintain various files, documents, logs, binders.  Some examples include equipment warranty binder, life safety binder, vendor and contractor certificates of insurance, disposition of the information in utility meter reading logs, freezer and cooler logs, and other logs.
    • Production of weekly schedules for staff, CARE rooms, postings of POO, POE, POS, group resume specifications, etc.
    • Maintain video information system in the Engineering Department with specified information.
    • Assist with the department training program efforts.  Scheduling of rooms and equipment for various department trainings and meetings.  Assist in organizing information contained in various in-house trainings.  Assist in the registration of staff members in various third-party training offerings.  Embrace all learning and training opportunities.
    • Gain an understanding of the department and hotel life safety functions.  Lock out tag out, arc flash, elevator extraction, hot work, fire alarm response, fire extinguishers, fire system impairment, personal protective equipment, active shooter, bomb threats, weather emergencies
    • Gain an understanding and be able to work with systems such as the telephone switch, the free-to-guest and pay-per-view video system (Sonifi), wireless network, guest room door lock system (Ving), building automation system (Control IQ), property management system (Opera) and especially the maintenance management system (Synergy).
    • Maintain inventory of regularly consumed parts and supplies.
    • Gain an understanding of the Standards of Practice for the Engineering Department

    Qualifications

    • Must have experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and understand the basic purpose of a database program.
    • Must be able to navigate various apps on a mobile device
    • Must have great person to person interaction capabilities and a great personality
    • Basic knowledge of the terminology associated with building maintenance
    • Read, write and speak in English.  Must be able to speak Spanish.  Reading and writing in Spanish is preferred
