Job Description

This position will provide a training program for participants who are interested in developing skills and knowledge in a hotel setting.  The program provides participants on-going theoretical and practical training under the supervision of a well-educated and experienced Food and Beverage team.  The training objective is to afford the students the opportunity for training, hands on exposure and experience in their selected professional career setting.


  • Greet guests entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service
  • Seat guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, and placing clean menu in front of guest
  • Answer phone and record reservations for large parties
  • Control high volume outside of restaurant
  • Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and well being of guests
  • Assist servers when needed
  • Familiarity with menu options to answer questions and make dining suggestions
  • Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell
  • Rotation will include:  Trade Restaurant, In Room Dining, Banquets and the kitchen.


  • Must have strong customer service and communication skills  
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
  • Prior restaurant or F&B experience is required; hospitality food & beverage & fine dining experience is preferred.
  • Must require an internship for college/university credit.
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.  
  • Must have alcohol training certification (RASP/TIPS)
