Job Description

Ski Patrol is responsible for the overall safety and security of the snow sports area, and is expected to check all open trails for hazards, bamboo placed if needed and/or removed in snow making areas, removing any obstructions on open terrain and report snow conditions to lead patrol/hill captain, lift supervisor, and Director of Recreation. All Ski Patrol team members are responsible to respond immediately to emergency incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Be courteous, tactful, and helpful, but firm in enforcing snow sports area policies and procedures.
  • Report hazards at all times and mark then as required. 
  • Remain for sweep at sessions end and only leave post once lead patrol/hill captain have approved all clear.
  • Assist lift attendants with lift lines.
  • Keep patrol room, office, and exam rooms clean.
  • Promote safe, controlled skiing and snowboarding
  • Assist Lift/Snow making supervisor when needed and should be aware of extra duties such as shoveling snow, placing bamboo, and other duties as needed.
  • Treat all patients in an efficient, effective, and dignified manner
  • Complete Incident/Accident Report according to company procedure 
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that is a credit to the snow sports area.
  • Perform other duties listed in Homestead Ski Patrol Operations Manual.

Qualifications

  • Current, and valid through April 2018 CPR / First Aid Certification
  • Current, and valid through April 2018 EMT Certification
  • Ski Patrol Certification
  • Ability to ski or ride in all areas of the resort, including off-piste areas and changing conditions throughout the day
