Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Foreman for the beautiful Barton Creek Resort and Spa!

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Maintenance Foreman to support daily operations and lead a crew in delivering championship-level playing conditions. As the Maintenance Foreman, you’ll play a key role in executing the superintendent’s agronomic vision and ensuring the course is maintained to the highest standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and motivate the golf course maintenance crew to perform daily duties efficiently and safely.
  • Execute and oversee all golf course maintenance practices including mowing, edging, bunker maintenance, irrigation, and daily course setup.
  • Manage landscape maintenance for resort grounds including weeding, pest control, and plant care (interior and exterior).
  • Plan and assign work schedules; inspect ongoing and completed tasks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Implement and oversee weed control programs and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the course and grounds; lead daily crew meetings to review assignments and expectations.
  • Maintain basic financial oversight within scope of responsibility, including ordering tools, supplies, and managing inventory.
  • Provide input into the annual business plan and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety protocols; coordinate proper safety training and certification for all staff.
  • Be present and actively assist during snow events unless excused by the Director of Grounds Maintenance.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service aligned with resort and guest service standards.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of golf course maintenance experience, including crew supervision
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and hold team members accountable
  • Strong understanding of turfgrass management practices, including mowing, bunker maintenance, edging, and course setup
  • Proficient in the operation of a wide range of turf equipment (mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems (manual operation and basic troubleshooting)
  • Ability to read and execute detailed work plans and daily job assignments
  • Familiarity with fertilizer and chemical application processes (license preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to recognize turf issues
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Basic understanding of the game of golf and how it influences maintenance practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to stand up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
  • Must be able to walk, climb, bend/stoop, reach overhead, and perform repetitive hand/arm movements up to 30 minutes per hour.
  • Must be able to lift and carry over 40 pounds, including overhead lifting, pushing, pulling, and other physical tasks
