Job Description

$18 per hour plus tips!

 

For more than 100 years, Omni Severin Hotel has stood as the longest-running luxury hotel in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Responsibilities

  • To be thoroughly acquainted with all technical equipment to fully utilize its capabilities.
  • Be familiar with all espresso drink varieties and know how to make them to consistent standards.
  • Maintain proper inventory controls utilizing first in, first out method of inventory.
  • Ensure all products are made to meet specifications consistently.
  • Collect payment to Omni standards.
  • Follow health, sanitation, and safety guidelines for all products.
  • Maintain your liquor license and serve safe license.
  • Use necessary kitchen equipment while following all health and safety standards.
  • Adapt to changing food and drink products.
  • Prepare, and serve food and beverage offerings.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying guest and associate concerns.
  • Must remain professional in all situations.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Understand and acknowledgement of proper uniform and grooming standards.
  • Ensure the entire 8th Notch space is maintained and cleaned throughout the shift.
  • Assist with monthly inventory.
  • Interact with other departments to ensure guest needs are satisfied.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding employee purchases.
  • Follow procedures for all receipts and returns.
  • Proactively work to seek out ways in which to improve the guests experience.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Restock Cooler

Qualifications

  • Weekend Availability Required.
  • Previous coffee house and/or hotel experience preferred.
  • Previous cash handling and face-to-face customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests.
  • Ability and accurately and efficiently input information in Simphony.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain serve safe and liquor license.
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Requires repetitive motion, with consistent use of hands and arms.
  • Must adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
