Job Description

Omni Royal Orleans is seeking a Dining Room Attendant to join our team.

Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Omni Royal Orleans anchors the corner of St. Louis and Royal Streets and has long been recognized as a historic Four Diamond hotel that reflects a more sophisticated time.

As part of our recent renovation, the Royal Lobby Bar is a new addition, enhancing our tradition of timeless elegance while offering guests a refreshed experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ownership in all tasks, consistently delivering service that creates “guests for life.”
  • Exhibit creativity and innovation to successfully multitask while meeting multiple guest needs efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain awareness of all safety precautions and procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and team members.
  • Ensure products are fresh, of high quality, and presented according to standards.
  • Transport food items from the kitchen to the dining room promptly, adhering to all service standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both external and internal guests, including greeting passersby.
  • Clean and maintain a hygienic, organized work area at all times.
  • Complete all closing duties, including locking areas, turning off equipment, and securing the workspace.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of service area machinery.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or directed by management.
  • Stock and maintain supplies in service stations.
  • Set tables with clean linens, china, glassware, and silverware.
  • Ensure furniture and floors are clean, organized, and arranged according to restaurant specifications.
  • Assist servers during meal periods and remove extra settings as needed.
  • Pour water and attend to guest needs at tables.
  • Interact with guests in a professional, courteous, and engaging manner.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current Louisiana Responsible Vendor’s Permit.

  • Must have current ServSafe Food Handler’s Certification.

  • Must be TABC and Food Handler certified.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 lbs without assistance.

Working Environment:

  • Work performed throughout the interior of the hotel, including all public and service areas.

  • Occasional work in exterior areas of the hotel, with exposure to varying weather conditions.

  • Exposure to and handling of various cleaning and hazardous chemicals in compliance with safety standards.

  • Frequent exposure to food and beverage items in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

Tools & Equipment

  • Uses computers, printers, typewriters, telephones, pens/pencils, photocopy machines, filing systems, and fax machines as needed.
