Job Description

The cashier is responsible for handling all food and beverage payment transactions, providing superior customer service, and maintaining cleanliness throughout Fres.Co. The Cashier will prepare well-crafted morning beverages for our guests and will process food orders and deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Complete knowledge of menu and specials. Ability to recite menu details with ease and to comfortably “sell” and “upsell” to our guests. Exhibit “expert” knowledge of morning beverages.
  • Prepare coffee beverages according to Omni specifications.
  • Follow Omni’s “Moments of Service” guidelines for receiving and confirming guest orders.
  • Enter all guest orders into our point-of-sale system (MICROS) in accordance to Omni standards.
  • Ensure all proper details about order and pricing are communicated with kitchen staff and other team members.
  • Keep outlet clean and well-maintained at all times.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.
  • Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Understand and comply with the following components of Department Orientation:
    • Job description and department service standards
    • Uniform and grooming standards
    • Work schedules, reporting to work, paid time-off, vacation requests
    • Cafeteria meal times and other breaks
    • Fire alarm and other emergency procedures
    • Fire prevention and safety regulations
    • Procedures for guest and associate accidents
    • Use of hazardous chemicals, The Right to Know Law (OSHA)
    • How to continuously improve guest service using the Omni Service Tradition program
    • How to meet and exceed service expectations using the Power of One philosophy
    • How to acknowledge exceptional guest service using the Omni Service Champions program
  • Knowledge of point of sale system.
  • Knowledge of current policies and procedures.
  • Proper phone introduction and etiquettes for answering inquiries.
  • Understand how/where to get needed supply items.
  • Opening/closing duties.
  • Perform daily side duties.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues.

Qualifications

  • Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule which includes working on weekends and holidays. Shifts could include a combination of morning shifts, mid-shifts and night shifts as required by business levels.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in basic English.
  • Previous guest service experience required, preferably in an upscale setting.
  • Barista or coffeehouse/restaurant experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year cash handling experience is required.
  • Basic math skills with addition and subtraction is required.
  • Valid food handler's certification and TIPS is required.
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment, follow through on guest requests, ensure guest satisfaction, and work as a team player.
  • Micros experience highly preferred.
  • Standing/Walking Requirements: Ability and willingness to stand and/or walk for 8 hours at a time. Approximately 90%-100% of each shift will be spent standing or walking.

*Pay: $23.40/hour The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience.
