Opening in Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a Natural Spring inspired full-service spa and entertainment pedestrian plaza featuring high-end shopping, amphitheater, charter boat docking and beautiful promenade. The new iconic landmark offers unforgettable views of the Atlantic paired with unrivalled convenience and intelligently designed meeting spaces. The hotel will be directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, immediately adjacent to Port Everglades cruise terminal and less than two miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

 

Job Description

 

Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel!

 

Opening Fall 2025, the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

 

To maintain the highest standards possible for the guest by insuring  quick, efficient, and professional service to ensure satisfaction. To assist the Manager on Duty in day-to-day operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly. 
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. 
  • Must be effective in handling problems in workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary. 
  • Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management. 
  • Supervise and coordinate assigned shift. 
  • Assist manager in communicating new information and teaching new procedures to all marketplace associates. 
  • Check staff punctuality. 
  • Complete environmental checklist for dining room. 
  • Order daily supplies or communicate inventory needs to appropriate management. 
  • Follow up on established training steps. 
  • Handle guest comments and complaints. 
  • Ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Communicate with guests and receive feedback. 
  • Observe, teach, and correct staff’s service. 
  • Monitor each guest experience. 
  • Must be able work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions. 
  • To be thoroughly aquainted with all technical equipment to fully utilize its capabilities and extend efficient service to hotel guests. 
  • Assist with monthly inventory. 
  • Maintain a cash bank. 
  • Verifying guest room numbers for room charges. 
  • Interact with other departments to ensure guest needs are satisfied. 
  • Adhere to proper food handling procedures. 
  • Proper knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures. 
  • Knowledge and troubleshoot POS functions. 
  • Serve guests under all Omni standards. 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a coffee house environment required. Previous supervisory experience in a food and beverage environment preferred. 
  • Previous cash handling and face to face customer service experience required 
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers 
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into POS software 
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor. 
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department 
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment 
  • Must become familiar with all coffee products and methods including coffee, espresso, specialty drinks and retail items 
  • Able to work with management on special projects. 
  • Able to set priorities for the team and provide feedback to others that enhances performance. 
  • Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to direct, develop and motivate staff.  
  • Ability to teach employees importance of, and how to greet guests and courteously solve requests 
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays 
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.  

 

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: 

  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shiftRequires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift. 

 

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: 

  • Desktop computer (Opera, Oracle, Micros terminals, Birchstreet, Kronos and Microsoft Office), printer, telephone, copier, fax machine and scanner. Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, dishware, silverware, glassware and espresso machine.
