 Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Resort Golf Tournament Coordinator for the beautiful Barton Creek Country Club!

Responsibilities

The Resort Golf Tournament Coordinator will assist the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf with all activities relating to the execution of our Resort Tournaments and group golf concierge services to the smaller resort groups. The Resort Tournament coordinator has a specific focus of running all events at Foothills, Crenshaw, and Canyon’s golf courses and Lakeside with their resort tournaments. In addition, the Resort Tournament Coordinator is to assist the Resort Tournament Coordinator when needed.

 

The Resort Golf Tournament Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Organizing all details of the tournaments. This includes and is not limited to planning, budgeting, presentation, sign-ups, promotions, formats, starting times, food and beverage requirements, and communications. Communication is paramount within the golf, membership, agronomy, and food and beverage departments. 
  • Working with the Head Golf Professionals in advance of the event to ensure staffing levels and tournament assignments are prepared and planned. 
  • Assisting the Director of Golf in developing the calendars, reserving and blocking tee sheets, and helping all groups with their tournament planning and implementation. The Resort Golf Tournament Coordinator will also be asked to perform duties outside of Tournament Coordination, including serving as an assistant golf professional and filling in for the daily professional on duty. The expectation is 16 to 24 hours during the offseason.

General Duties: 

  • Golf course marking for upcoming tournaments in conjunction with the Head Golf Professionals.
  • Assist resort guests and groups with tournament registration and materials.
  • Ensure presentation and communication are in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Communicate with event planners and organizers. Be professional, prompt, and friendly at all times. 
  • Blocking tournaments in reservations systems under the guidelines of the Director of Golf.
  • Billing all tournament revenues and gratuities. Ensuring entry fees, rentals, clubs, refunds, and other items are correctly billed.
  • Ensuring all invoicing is properly dispatched to administration for payment and forecasting.
  • Ensuring the play counts for every tournament are rung in the POS to ensure proper round of golf recording.
  • Performing tournament follow-up tasks.                                                    
  • Performing other tasks required by management.                                        

Qualifications

  • PGA association required 
  • Experience at managing and coordinating all aspects of golf tournaments
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills, verbal and written 
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel 
  • Reputation for quality and attention to detail 
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends as demanded by business cycles 
  • Ability to use logical and rational thinking to solve problems
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Occasionally lifting of 50-60 lbs
