Job Description

Supervise the day to day operation of the ski area vehicle maintenance shop. Work as a vehicle mechanic on all Mount Washington Resort vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, vans, shuttle buses, off road 4x4s, snowmobiles, Prinoth and Piston Bully snow groomers, heavy equipment including Link Belt excavator, and CAT loader. John Deere tractors and back hoe loader, AEBI tractor..

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance as needed on all resort vehicles.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies and tools.
  • Work closely with Engineering department to determine Resort fleet maintenance schedules including annual inspections, routine maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Ensure all work is recorded in a timely and accurate manner following State and Federal code regulations.
  • Supervise other mechanics on staff to ensure high standard of repair, efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate work projects based on annual maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate and schedule all monthly, biannual, and annual testing as required by manufacturer.
  • Maintain all inspection logs and ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly inspections are being completed.
  • Maintain work logs.
  • Utilize resort purchasing and receiving software to order supplies and maintain budgets.
  • Assist other mountain operations departments in maintaining and repairing equipment including welding repairs.
  • Assist in snow plowing during winter season.

Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or GED, plus five-seven years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
  • Previous experience maintaining, repairing and operating Pisten Bully Snocat grooming machines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with small engine repair, diesel engines and low voltage systems.
  • Must be willing to work in extreme winter weather conditions.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong team player.
  • Must provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
