Job Description

This position is ideal for the candidate wishing to establish their career in Human Resources. The Human Resources Coordinator will assist the Human Resources Team in providing core areas of human resource practices. This individual will also perform all clerical tasks of the department and assist with the day to day activities of recruitment, employee relations, training, occupational health and safety, compensation and benefits, and human resources policies. This position will also report to the Finance department and assist with daily responsiblities and duties related to accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comfortable and hospitable reception to all associates upon entrance to the Associate Service Center (HR) offices.
  • Maintains an orderly and neatly kept reception area to ensure complete comfort of the candidates and associates.
  • Monitors and maintains Associate Programs to include birthday & anniversary listings, birthday cards, bulletin boards, OSC Board, and other postings as appropriate.
  • Files and maintains all associate records, ensuring compliance with HR SOPs and legal requirements.
  • Conduct audits of associate files and required documentation.
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation facilitation and onboarding.
  • Assist associates as needed by answering simple questions or forwarding to appropriate team members.
  • Participate in planning and execution of associate events planned by the HR Department.
  • Responsible for daily checks of mailbox and distribution of departmental mail.
  • Assist in processing change of address, change of name, change of marital status, etc.
  • Assist applicants with online applications and questions.
  • Responsbile for ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed with appropriate signatures.
  • All payroll reports are prepared by required deadlines.
  • Organize and order all office supplies, including nametags, folders, etc.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Human resources and /or Hotel management experience preferrd, not required. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English with guests/visitors and resort personnel to their understanding.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, calendaring and proficiency with data entry, database management and report writing.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish, verbal and written.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits and employee issues as an employee in Human Resources.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and capability to take on special assignments/projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Ability to act as a brand ambassador for Omni Hotels & Resorts.
