Job Description

Protect the interests and assets of Community Association members.

Responsibilities

• To act and perform the assigned tasks as an extension of management.
• To observe and report both verbally and in writing on all assignments.
• Use computers and software to generate effective, concise reporting.
• Ability to use radio equipment and keep accurate records. Proper telephone etiquette.
• Patrol the hotel property. Report and record all unsafe conditions.
• Be Red Cross certified in first aid and CPR and maintain thorough knowledge of fire and fire alarm procedures.
• To insure the protection and preservation of hotel, guest, and employee property. Maintain current and thorough knowledge of the Resort’s emergency and life safety procedures.
• Ability to accept and complete specific assigned tasks, as needed or deemed necessary.
• Conduct investigations.
• Conduct and document safety inspections of grounds and life safety equipment.
• Lock and secure the Resort and attached properties.
• Conduct accident investigations and write accident reports.
• Assist Associates in getting care for accidents as needed and completing required documentation.
• Assist guests and associates with entry and exit from secured areas according to Resort policy.
• Enforce hotel policies and procedures.
• Respond to life-threatening emergencies as well as “criminal behavior” according to Resort policy.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Respond to customer-service related tasks as needed.
• In absence of Rooms Departments, perform basic cleanliness, luggage, or service requests.

Qualifications

Physical Job Requirements (for essential functions only)
• Must have a background check without serious criminal record and a safe driving record.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Ability to verbally communicate clearly, professionally, and diplomatically with guests and associates is required.
• Must be adept at handling tense and difficult situations, gaining compliance / cooperation without undue escalation and always acting in a calm manner.
• Hotel / Resort experience preferred.
• Prior Security/Loss Prevention experience: strongly preferred.
• Ability to be mobile throughout the Resort and work both inside and outside is required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet browsers required. Incident Report software and Chrome Browser experience preferred.
• High School Degree or GED required. Some college preferred.
• Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in extreme weather.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 75 with assistance.
• Efficient and discreet communication skills involving associates and guests by telephone, email, radio, and internal reporting.
• Must be service and detail oriented, possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be proficient on a computer.

 

Knowledge/equivalent education:
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess effective oral and written English communications skills.
