A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment.

 

The 320-room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center and six two-story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

Job Description

This team member is responsible for guest satisfaction in the Idlewild Spa by performing services to the best of their ability and maintaining Omni standards throughout all procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide the very highest quality in terms of nail service treatment and professional concept.
  • To work as part of the Spa service team to consistently provide the highest possible standard of treatment, creating an elevated sensory journey for guests helping them to rest, relax and regain a sense of balance and harmony in their lives.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Support new Omni Safe and Clean protocols throughout the spa to support Omni’s sanitation protocols. 
  • To begin and end treatments at the published time and ensure correct procedures of all treatments are being followed at all times.
  • Properly care for equipment and implements and tools and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all nail services and products while educating and training guests in these areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and lines etc. are fully stocked on a day-to-day basis in your treatment room.
  • Ensure all inventory levels are accurate so that you are prepared for your day.
  • Ensure all guests depart with a completed Professional Recommendation Form after each and every service.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions, and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Ensure all professional stock is being used in compliance with the PAR levels to assist with reduction in product waste.
  • Responsible for setting up the nail stations and pedicure thrones according to procedures and dispose of laundry on a timely basis.
  • Relay with confidence product and service benefit to guests.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings.
  • Perform all services for which training has been received in the allotted period and without personal interpretation of the treatment application.
  • Report any maintenance problems throughout the spa to the proper authority.
  • Stay current and educated with new treatments and products in the Spa industry.
  • Must maintain client and spa business confidentiality/privacy at all times.
  • Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Nail or Cosmetology License
  • 1-year minimum experience in nail therapy
  • Compliant to State Board sanitation/sterilization procedures
  • Meticulous cuticle cleanup & overall finish work
  • Team player
  • Responsible, dependable
  • High personal standards and values
  • Excellent client care, guest service and attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to update technical skills by facilitating and participating in on-going training
  • Effective communicator
  • Must be flexible and cooperative.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Follow all aspects of job safety
  • Ability to bending, stoop, and lift materials of moderate weight.

 

Working Environment:

  • Interior of Spa
  • Occasional exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.

  • Standard nail service supplies such as electric and manual files, clippers, buffers, brushes.
