Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco Resort is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer Class 1 | Kitchen Mechanic to join our team. Omni Frisco PGA Resort will provide north Texas with 127,000 square feet of event space, 13 new food and beverage outlets, an extravagant spa and a full entertainment district. Featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a third short course, we will provide incredible options for our guests and local community for dining, events, and entertainment.

 

This role will help ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained hotel environment while providing maintenance services to guests in a courteous, professional and engaging manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and components.
  • Maintain all the Refrigeration, HVAC, Kitchen and Laundry equipment in the building.
    • Working independently with and around mechanical, thermal, and chemical systems
    • Working independently with electrical voltages up to and including 480-volt circuits and controls
    • Working independently with all types of refrigerants excluding automotive, RV and ammonia systems
    • Working independently around pressurized systems with pressures that can be greater than 400 psi.
    • Working independently with pumps of varying types, sizes and capacities
    • Performing work from ladders 
    • Using oxy acetylene torch / welding equipment
    • Use of appropriate hand tools such as drills, hammers, knives, wrenches, screwdrivers
    • Working in hot and cold environments at times as low as -20 degrees and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit
    • Use of personal protective equipment, lockout tag out and all necessary safety equipment
  • Understand and be able to work with systems such as the telephone switch, guest and employee Internet networks, guest room door lock system, building automation system and especially the work order system (Synergy).
  • Receive direction from engineering management on daily assignments or projects and complete within the time and manner specified or in accordance with hotel needs.
  • Receive direction for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Ability to properly prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned on a daily basis or as a project.
  • Embrace all learning and training opportunities.
  • Maintain inventory and orders all equipment supplies.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the importance of Lock out Tag out, the dangers of arc flashes and other precautions that need to be taken around equipment.
  • Make all repairs according to manufacture specifications
  • Understand how to detect trends that indicate developing issues.
  • Maintain engineering shops.

Qualifications

  • Previous general maintenance experience required, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Previous HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance experience required.
  • One year of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment experience is required, commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with response to emergency situations is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Thorough working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration  systems
  • Good communication, attention to detail, time management, computer and guest satisfaction skills are required.
  • The ability to stand/walk for long periods of time. 
  • The ability to crawl for short periods of time.
  • The ability to bend, reach over-head, squat, kneel for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
