A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment.

 

The 320-room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center and six two-story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

Job Description

            This team member is responsible for guest satisfaction in the Idlewild Spa by performing services to the best of their ability and maintaining Omni standards throughout all procedures. 

Responsibilities

  • To work as part of the spa therapy team to consistently provide the highest possible standard of treatment, creating an elevated, sensory journey for guests helping them to rest, relax and regain a sense of balance and harmony in their lives.
  • Supports new Omni Safe and Clean Protocols throughout the spa to support Omni's sanitation protocols. 
  • Responsible for stocking / setting up and re-setting the treatment rooms according to Opening and Closing Operational Checklists.
  • Removal of dirty linens in a timely manner.
  • Maintain sanitation of work area and equipment as required by state board guidelines.
  • Ensure all professional stock is being used in compliance with the PAR levels to assist with reduction in product waste.
  • To begin and end treatments at the published time and ensure correct procedures of all treatments are being followed at all times.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Ensure all guests depart with a completed Professional Recommendation Form after each and every service.
  • Strive to consistently encourage upgrades and produce a minimum of 10% in retail sales per day / week/ month.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings.
  • Perform all services for which training has been received in the allotted period and without personal interpretation of the treatment application.
  • Report any maintenance problems throughout the spa to the proper authority.
  • Stay current and educated with new treatments and products in the Spa industry.
  • Must maintain client and spa business confidentiality/privacy at all times.
  • Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in massage therapy preferably in an upscale salon or spa.
  • Proficient skills in traditional and modern forms of massage.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

  • Ability and willingness to update technical skills by facilitating and participating in on-going training.

  • Active therapist license required.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with State Board sanitation/sterilization procedures.
  • Responsible and dependable with ability to fulfill on-call scheduling needs, according to the demands of the business.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Commitment to exceeding the expectations of customers, always operating with a strong attention to detail to the guest’s needs. 
  • Must be flexible and cooperative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, managing back-to-back appointments in a high volume 4-star environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Follow all aspects of job safety.
  • Stand and/or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.  
  • Able to execute proper body mechanics to reduce fatigue, overuse, or injury.
  • Requires repetitive motion, with consistent use of hands and arms.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds with frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. 

Working Environment:

  • Occasional exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
