Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking Aquatic Aerobics Instructor | On Call for the beautiful new Barton Creek Country Club!

Under direct supervision of the Fitness Director, the Water Aerobics Instructor provides water aerobics instruction, monitors and educates Members on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time.
  • Provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down.
  • Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
  • Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class.
  • Assists Members, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants.
  • Keeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems.
  • Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Certified Instructor (AEA, ACE, AFAA), water specialty/certification preferred.
  • Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid
  • Experience in Group Exercise, Water Aerobics instruction and/or Swim Coaching. Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles.
  • Knowledge of water aerobics teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
  • Choreography skills are a plus.
  • Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
  • Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
  • Outgoing, friendly, personable, social personality who is able to develop relationships with Members and Staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Good level of physical fitness, strength, and endurance.
  • Ability to demostrate a variety of aquatic exercises. 
  • Ability to remain in water for duration of classes.
